| 27 May 2009 Ladies Pink Ribbon Luncheon Well this was the second annual Gulf Harbour Yacht Club Ladies Pink Ribbon Luncheon - and it was bigger and better than the first - which is saying something!! I can only quote the organiser Trish Strong "We don't do Breakfast very well but we SURE CAN do a Lunch!!" It is [now] traditional for the Ladies to dress up
- they did! There is always a speaker - this year it was Jamie Ford of the Foresight Institute talking about the Mental Toughness associated with perseverance - especially breast cancer. So you weren't there and missed out! Tough !! Book earlier next year........ Give Trish a ring NOW!! Note: Please be patient as there are a lot of great pictures to download
Trish opened the afternoon and welcomed everyone
This is the first of MANY tables full of women although it was SO sunny that some of the pictures are a little light affected (nothing to do with the alcohol - honest!)
The ONLY man to be there all day (trapped behind the bar in his Pink shirt and
apron) Howard Rowland!
The delightful ladies of the galley worked VERY hard to serve up a cracking 3 course meal
Trish introducing the [only other] man of the afternoon Jamie Ford with his
Mental Toughness presentation
Jamie in full swing talking about Developing Emotional Resilience, Mental
Toughness, and optimism
Viv and Jude [volunteered] after a wine or three dressed up in special jackets and about to have balls thrown at them (apparently you had to be there to fully appreciate the stress relief significance....!)
Finally Viv is having her balls removed..... [words fail me at this point - you really REALLY had to be there...]
The bottom line was the function raised $2340 towards breast cancer and the Ladies had a great time. All photographs can be saved to your hard drive: Small version (above pictures) just right mouse and "save picture as" wherever you want it. Large [uncropped] versions are available via email.
