For the quiz night we had over 50 members and guests for the first of our monthly winter quiz evenings. Following a delicious buffet, our new Quiz Master/Mistress team of Diana, Sue and Greg did a great job of keeping us entertained, the winning team delighted

Easter Saturday provided idyllic conditions for the Brian Holgate memorial Pétanque Challenge . Shark Bay was the location, offering a perfect pitch for the competitors to fight hard for the trophy. Many rounds involved our meticulous measurer to check whether stripes or spots had the winning throw! Once again, very grateful and blessed to be able to socialise and share such fun times in such a beautiful setting

11 boats started with RO Richard Brown coordinating the evenings entertainment. 10 finished. With a South Easterly 12knt breeze, Course 5 with Starboard roundings had the fleet head out towards the Gulf Harbour Mark. After a clean start those taking the right hand side made most gains. Several kites hoisted for the first downwind leg before another upwind leg with similar outcomes to the first. The reach towards a setting sun camouflaged the orange Mark

Course 18 was selected for Race 1 of the AA Solar Gulf Series. This allowed the fleet to get around & back for the Prada Cup racing & before the breeze dropped away. Memphis won the line leaving the fleet in her wake, but all close enough, in the light airs, to shake hands with Richard Brown (RO) & his crew on Olympus. A beat up to Long Bay northern marker involved

9 boats took to the start line set by Colin and Kirsty Mitten, thanks guys for that. The start was delayed by 5 minutes due to Weiti starting their race at 10.00 also using channel 77 and causing a little confusion, good call Colin and Kirsty After a good start with a nice breeze crews were enjoying the conditions for about an hour or so before the wind deserted the fleet leaving everyone becalmed.
