Women On Water Weekend
7 th - 9th March 2025
Spinnaker Division
This division is perfect for those women who are more experienced sailors and enjoy competitive racing and want to test their skills with the option of using extras; spinnakers and/or gennakers. A pursuit style first race will be followed by two triangular or windward-leeward races of about 1 hour duration on Saturday and two more races on Sunday.
Non-Spinnaker Division
For those sailors who like competitive racing without the complication of extras. This division will follow the same format as the spinnaker division. Ideal for those wanting to experience the thrill of racing but perhaps without too much prior knowledge or experience.
Harbour Course Division
This division is tailored for those who are looking for a more relaxed sailing experience and provides a fantastic opportunity for women who are completely new to sailing or those who may feel a bit nervous about close quarter manoeuvring. The course will be separate to the Spinnaker & non-Spinnaker Divisions, using existing harbour marks and no extras. At the start, each boat will be given a five-minute window with their time taken when they cross the starting line. There will be three courses sailed on Saturday and one longer course on Sunday.
