Hello Summer Speaker Series » Mike Pignéguy: What to do when the lights go out! Navigating without electronics
If you have yet to experience the complete loss of all of your electronic navigation equipment, then count yourself lucky. GPS/Chartplotters, radar, and depth sounders are all wonderful aids to navigation, the key word being 'aids'. This means that you should already know the basics of coastal navigation before you start relying on these aids.
Come along and check out how to get safely around the coast by just being situationally aware and using a few of the pre-electronic age navigational methods of keeping your vessel in safe waters.
Club open from 5pm. Light meals available from 6pm. Speaker starts 7.30pm.
All GHYC members and guests welcome. Please feel free to invite your friends.
