Bringing members something that will be of interest to anyone who loves the Ocean, the Hauraki Gulf and our local shoreline.

Firstly if you are fortunate enough to have a boat on the Hauraki Gulf and are is interested in assisting in some small way to increase our knowledge of what is happening in our marine environment, then this evening is for you.

Do join us at the club this Thursday 29th October at 7.30pm evening, after our drinks and club social, as SeaKeepers South Pacific will be giving a short presentation of their activities in the South Pacific and how we can help them, even if it's only reporting sightings of sharks and manta rays.

For members with or without a boat, GHYC has a team (thanks Pamela and Allan Hooper) who are now working with Yachting NZ's Moanamana Project and 2 local schools, collecting data from out peninsula foreshores to increase their knowledge of marine research, conservation and education..

If you are interested in helping out or hearing more about these initiatives then please give Mike Pignéguy a call - 027 33 88 248
