Variable winds calls for variable sails!

Race 7 of the Combined GHYC- WBC Winter Series 2021

Variable conditions on the water were the conditions with a general SSW flow with between 5 & 18knts. Clouds tracking across the race course brought changing conditions and mixed things up each leg.

Our White fleet set off with majority spotting the pin-end bias and Rogue II executing a slick port-end flyer crossing the fleet & heading to the right. The left-hand side of the course slightly favoured the fleet with shifts to play as they approached the top mark. A few big dips could be seen as port crews opted to clear starboard boats to their stern, keeping it clean.

Approaching the wing mark was a bear-away and into a gybe heading downhill. Heading back upwind the Gold Fleet head to the orange Mark & the white fleet crews scanned the horizon for the white can which seem to disappear in the light somewhere in Okura. Turning back for the final downwind leg had lots of kites hoisted in calm conditions, that freshened up & made for a lively leg with many of the two fleets overtaking or converging at the bottom mark.

Fun day on the water & excellent numbers across both fleets. Can we break 30 for the final two races of this season?
