All dressed up

The final race in the Taylor & Co Lawyers Ladies Twilight series traditionally witnesses crews donning fancy dress to end the series in true party style and this year was no exception. It was a race that nearly didn't happen: earlier in the day with strong wind warnings and a southerly breeze creating a white washed sea state, race officer Mike Lanigan already had a contingency plan in place but the wind decreased in time for the 1830 start and saw many of the boats shake out reefs to make the most of the twilight evening sailing breeze. And it was great to see the Satisfied Sisters attempt their first race and getting the gun with Lynne helming her virgin voyage on Satisfaction 2. Massive thanks to Taylor & Co Lawyers for their continued sponsorship to this event; much appreciated; to Mike Lanigan and his crew on Olympus for managing us all and ensuring we're safe, and for all the club bar & kitchen staff for all their services throughout the season. Bring on October 2023 with even more Wahine on Whangaparāoa Waters
