Finally - a day of acceptable sailing conditions - though it didn't last long. But long enough for us to complete race 6 of the Burnsco Summer Cruising race to Rocky Bay The fleet of 12 boats were started in the most professional manner by our Race Management team on Alcaro, many thanks Colin & Kirsty. And then headed southeast, with half the fleet taking the windward side of the course and the other half the leeward side of the course taking into consideration the tide through Rankino Channel. The wind joined in with the race decreasing during the leg along the southside of Waiheke allowing the smaller boats to catch up with the 40ft plus fleet which made for an exciting race.

A lovely anchorage at Kauakarau Bay offered an excellent destination for the Prize Giving with council BBQ facilities on hand. And thank to Warren for supplying some beautifully hand crafted beach games as entertainment for the crews. Great to finally be out on the water, reconnect and enjoy the summer sun.

1st on Line: Planet X

1st on Handicap: Seabrook; 2nd Pickpocket; 3rd Knot at Work
