Glorious day of Sailing

A stunning spring sail for Race 8 of the Brin Wilson Boats Ltd combined club Winter Series 2023.Slightly down on numbers on the race course, but competitive racing for those enjoying the warm breeze & course set up by GHYC Race Officers John, Linda and their team. The Force 2 - 3 from the Nor'East had the fleet in clear airs to the south of the Whangaparaoa Peninsula. No complaints from the race officer on both fleet starts.

The triangle leg of the course had a windshift to the North meaning a tighter first side & required some modifications of sail configurations, & with the wind shift the breeze also dropped causing some issues around marks for some of the boats. Big gains were made by Memphis & Hijinx who chose the right hand side of the course for the 2nd upwind leg. All in all an excellent day on the water. Thanks to our yacht club volunteers for their proficiency with race management - we're lucky to have them & to the warm welcome back in the club rooms post-racing.
