Are you curious about keelboat racing? Thinking of jumping on board as crew, or maybe you're a boat owner keen to give racing a go this summer? Whether you're brand new, have a little experience, or just want to understand what really happens out on the racecourse, this evening is for you!
What's happening on the night:
- Racing 101 with John & Linda Parrish
They'll walk us through the basics of keelboat racing, the key rules, how a race start sequence works, what the race committee does during racing, and how finishes are managed. - Safety at Sea
A refresher on important safety reminders and the minimum requirements for racing boats, especially handy if you're planning to head out beyond our fun twilight or rum races. - Learn to Sail
Before and after the talks, come along for a chat and meet Phil Shaw who runs Learn to Sail Keelboats courses for those just starting out. - Register with Crew and Boat Finder
Looking to crew or looking for crew. Find out how Crew and Boat Finder work on the GHYC website and register your interest.
