Gulf Harbour Marina 2022-2023 Twilight Series - Race 9. Sprays away for the final race of the series - Race officer - John Bruce and his crew Richard and Peter selected Course 2 into the SSW breeze. 12-20knts across the race course had a number of reefs implemented. The start line had 12 crossing, with Kirsten J popping out in front. The first beat had most the fleet tracking to the left - & Memphis, C McGuire & Hijinx out to the right. Glory Days were having a blinder until they confused the fleet by lining up for a starboard rounding of the top mark. Plenty of close racing amongst the fleet, a few extras hoisted for the willing & fast final leg surfing down to the finish line. This marks the final race for Team Patiko - who have been a competitive and fun component of many of our series the last few years, & helm Cherry; an active member of the Sailing Committee. Ongoing support from Auckland Engineering Supplies (ME) helps with the upkeep of Olympus & our team back in the clubrooms always create a great atmosphere. Series results will be released at our annual Prizegiving in May.
