You Travel Winter Cruising race 2
Published 10:22 on 22 Jun 2020
Ten boats eagerly started today's race which was a cracker of a course in our stunning sailing waters, at the front door of Gulf Harbour Yacht Club.
The course (#2) took us from the Start to Gulf Harbour Yellow Buoy (P), Navy Buoy (S), Southern Marine Reserve Buoy (S), Northern Marine Reserve Buoy (S), GH Yellow Buoy (P) to finish at Gulf Harbour Marina.
This is a popular Series, and it's a great Series for teaching Newcomers to sailing, particularly on days like today, when we are blessed with a steady Easterly breeze, and flat water, but with good distance between the marks to allow reinforcement of those learned skills, and to exploit those passing lanes.
A great couple of hours back at Gulf Harbour Yacht Club, war stories a plenty, the bar and barbecue flashed up, and sailors' humour in full swing.
Thank you to everybody who made today happen, and to those who participated in the race.
