Sunshine and delayed showers made for a perfect Race 2 of the Hibiscus Marine Coatings and Auckland Engineering Supplies (ME) GHYC/Weiti Boating Club Winter series. The Olympic course set by Race Officers John & Linda Parish, ably supported by chief flag and horn operator Gary Drummond, ideally suited the flat waters and northerly/n'westerly conditions. However, all competitors got a bit of a serve for their tardy arrival to the start zone.... naughty corner for everyone this week though it might have had something to do with dodging logs as the boats headed to the southern start line or partying hard the night before Egg and bacon butties greeted everyone back at the clubhouse courtesy of Grahame and Lynne Brown, before the rain made its entrance and the prizes were awarded Line Honours: Big Kahoona

Gold Division - 8 boats finished; podium results

3rd - Steelers Wheel; 2nd - Patiko; 1st - Laser

White Division - 14 boats finished; podium results

3rd - Rogue; 2nd - C McGuire; 1st - Big Kahoona

Next race 20th June (3 weeks time). We shall remain teachable!
